Mentoring and Achievement Preparation Program
In 2025, the Arkansas College of Health Education (ACHE) Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM) Admissions Department established the ACHE Mentoring and Achievement Preparation (M.A.P.): ARCOM Program. Building on the success of the original M.A.P. initiative, this program is designed to educate, encourage, equip, and engage diverse students from underrepresented, underserved, first-generation, and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds who are considering careers in osteopathic medicine. The program seeks to empower future physicians to positively impact underserved communities and help reduce healthcare disparities.
ACHE M.A.P.: ARCOM welcomed its inaugural cohort in 2025 and continues to grow as a pathway program supporting students pursuing careers in medicine. Through a comprehensive four-day on-campus immersive experience, participants explore osteopathic medicine through academic enrichment, professional development, and hands-on learning opportunities.
Following the immersive experience, participants are paired with ARCOM faculty and current medical students for ongoing mentorship, which continues throughout their undergraduate journey. Additionally, participants receive regular invitations from the ARCOM Office of Admissions to attend future admissions workshops, events, and programming designed to strengthen their preparation for medical school applications.
